Admission Requirements

To apply, you need:

  • A 2.1 (upper second-class) Honours degree in Computing or a related discipline
  • Solid programming competence—applicants complete an online test in C, C++ or Java before admission; Python familiarity is also highly valued  
  • A strong work ethic and motivation for a challenging program

  • Academic transcripts and degree certificate(s)
  • Two academic references (on official institution letterhead or Trinity template)  
  • Evidence of English proficiency meeting Trinity’s Band B standard entry requirement (IELTS ≥ 6.5 and 6.0 in each section, TOEFL iBT ≥ 90 and 21 in each section, Duolingo ≥ 120 and 100 in each section, PTE ≥ 69 and not less than 59 in each section)

  • Programming test after submission of application

Online applications open on 1st October of every year and close by December or January 31st. Programming test results are required before an offer is made.
