Visa Process

Visa Fees + SEVIS Fee: $510

Documents Required:

  • Certificate of Eligibility for non-immigrant student (I-20)
  • Receipt from your SEVIS fee
  • Receipt from the online visa form (DS-160) for a non-immigrant student
  • Passport with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States
  • Any old passports you may have
  • Documents that prove your financial situation or any financial support you will have during your studies
  • Two recent color photos of yourself, one physical, one digital
  • Transcripts, test scores, qualifications, or certificates from schools you have attended
  • Visa Interview at the Embassy or Consulate

Dependent Visa

  • The F-2 visa application fee is $160, but other fees may apply depending on the country or U.S. Embassy.
  • The F2 Visa is a non-immigrant temporary permit for the immediate family of F1 Student Visa holders. If you are an international student enrolled at a U.S. educational institution, your children and spouse can join you in the country.
  • Dependent can travel along with the student
  • Only spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21 of an F-1 visa holder are eligible for F-2 status.
  • F-2 status is dependent on the F-1 visa holder's status, and ends if the F-1 visa holder leaves the U.S. or loses their status.
  • F-2 dependents are not permitted to work in the U.S. and are not eligible for a Social Security Number.
  • F-2 dependent children are permitted to attend full-time elementary through secondary school in the U.S. F-2 spouses are not permitted to pursue a degree program in the U.S.
  • F-2 dependents can leave and re-enter the U.S. with the proper documentation.
  • After the F-1 visa holder completes their studies and leaves the U.S., there is a 60-day grace period during which the F-1 and F-2 dependents may remain in the U.S.
